What we can and cannot help with
MortgageMatch is an independent directory and a set of free calculators. We are not a mortgage broker, a lender or a regulated adviser, and we are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. That shapes what we are able to do for you.
We can help with
- Correcting or removing an inaccurate broker listing
- Claiming a listing if you are the firm concerned
- Reporting a review you believe is false, unfair or defamatory
- Errors, out-of-date figures or broken links in our guides and calculators
- Data-protection requests under the UK GDPR
- Press, research and data enquiries
We cannot help with
- Recommending a mortgage product, a lender or a particular broker
- Telling you how much you can borrow, or whether you will be accepted
- Reviewing an offer, an agreement in principle or an adviser's recommendation
- Chasing a lender, a solicitor or a broker on your behalf
- Anything that would amount to regulated mortgage advice

How long we take to reply
Email reaches a real inbox and a person answers it. We aim to reply within one working day, and most messages are answered sooner. Listing corrections are typically made within a working day or two of us confirming them, and we will tell you when the change is live. We do not run a phone line, so email is both the fastest and the only route.
If you are a broker
Listings are compiled from publicly available information, so your firm may already be here. Find your profile in the directory and use the claim option on the page to book a short call, or email us with your firm name, website and FCA reference number and we will link it for you.
Claiming is free. It lets you correct your details, set your specialisms and fee structure and keep the listing current. It does not buy you a higher position: brokers cannot pay to rank on MortgageMatch, as set out in our editorial standards. If you would rather not be listed at all, email us and we will remove your firm.
Reporting an inaccurate listing
A directory is only as good as its corrections. If something is wrong, tell us and include as much of the following as you can:
- The web address of the listing or guide page
- What is inaccurate, and what it should say instead
- Where we can verify it, such as the firm's own website or the FCA Register
- Whether you are the firm concerned, a customer, or neither
We will correct clear factual errors reported by anyone, and we amend or remove a listing at the request of the firm it describes. Reviews are open public submissions and are not individually verified; if you believe one is false or unfair, tell us which profile and why and we will look at it.
Press and research
Journalists and researchers can use the same address. Figures about the directory itself, with the methodology behind them, are on our press and data page.
Common questions
Can MortgageMatch give me mortgage advice?
No. MortgageMatch is an independent directory and a set of free tools, not a broker, lender or regulated adviser. We are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and we cannot recommend a mortgage or a firm. For advice about your own circumstances, contact an FCA-authorised mortgage adviser, several of whom you can find in our directory.
How quickly does MortgageMatch reply?
We aim to reply to email within one working day, and in practice most messages are answered the same day. Corrections to a listing or a figure are usually made within a working day or two of us confirming them. We do not operate a phone line, so email is the fastest route.
How do I claim my broker listing?
Find your firm in the directory and use the 'Claim this listing' option on your profile page, which lets you book a short call with us to confirm you are the firm concerned. If you cannot find your firm, email contact@mortgagematch.org with your firm name, website and FCA reference number and we will create or link the listing. Claiming is free and does not change where you appear in search results.
How do I report an inaccurate listing?
Email contact@mortgagematch.org with the address of the listing page and what is wrong, for example a changed phone number, an old trading name or a firm that has closed. We amend or remove listings at the request of the firm concerned, and we will correct clear factual errors reported by anyone.
Will you pass my details to a broker?
No. We do not sell or auction enquiry details, and we will not pass your message to a broker unless you have asked us to. When you want to speak to a broker, you contact them directly using the details on their listing.
